I am thoroughly enjoying the books Surely You’re Joking, Mr. Feynman and No Ordinary Genius: The Illustrated Richard Feynman. He was a wonderful mix of right and left brain thinking. I find myself thinking, throughout the day, “what would Feynman think of this?” So I rented Infinity starring Matthew Broderick as a young Feynman working on the bomb in Los Alamos. While Broderick is a great actor and played a great Feynman, there was a little too much love and too little science. We enjoyed the story but were hoping for more. I guess that’s what you get from an American film. Anyway, I still recommend it as a tiny intro into the life of Feynman. After writing this, I found this funny post.

To Julie, The Particle Zoo keeper.
I only discovered your page today through one of my friends. I must say it is as lovely as your hand made particles. Although I am studying Physics, I believe I was born an artist and I must say it is lovely to see how the two can go hand in hand.
I am also fond of Feynman (and his work). I read most of his books (with an exception of his lectures which are waiting for the summer holidays) and I would recomend a book with a collection of his letters (recieved or sent): “Don’t you have time to think?”.
I hope you will enjoy the read. And I would like to finish with a quote of Feynman (I am particularly fond of this):
Stands at sea
Wonders at wondering, I
The universe of atoms
An atom in the Universe.
(R.P. Feynman 1918-1988)
Best wishes to Julie

Surely You’re Joking Mr. Feynman was one of my most favorite books growing up, I read it a million times over and it remains one of my favorite books of all time. He was not only brilliant but a fantastic character. You gotta love all the thinking he did while drinking, drawing out physics equations on cocktail napkins at his local strip club.
